Hiking - Discovering the Crêts - From La Jasserie
An iconic trail in the Pilat, the Sentier des Crêts is a must-do hike in the region.
Covering the summit area of the Pilat massif, at an altitude ranging from 800 to 1432 meters (the highest point of the Pilat at Crêt de la Perdrix), the Crêts site spans approximately 6000 hectares and includes several types of natural habitats, some of which are of European importance: coniferous forests (mainly fir), beech groves, high-altitude heathlands, mountain meadows, and wetlands.
Everyone is responsible for their own safety. Therefore, you hike at your own risk. Stay on the marked trails to protect fragile ecosystems.
A few recommendations:
Check the weather forecast before you leave
Some routes cross busy roads: Be careful
Keep dogs on a leash
Do not light fires
Pack out your trash
Admire the flowers, do not pick them.
Tick bites can lead to serious diseases; as a precaution: wear clothing that covers your skin, use insect repellent, check your body upon your return, remove ticks with a tick removal tool without applying any substance to them, and consult a doctor in case of redness, flu-like symptoms, or if you are in an at-risk group.
For emergencies, dial 18 or 112.
