Hiking - AMIRAT - Col du Trébuchet
This scenic loop is suitable for regular hikers who enjoy good forest trails. A great way to explore the area!
"This trail, nestled on the edge of the Estéron region, starts from a dead-end road and, what’s more, straddles two departments, giving it a real sense of remoteness. Starting from Amirat and following good trails, you cross a pass and several forests to discover a small region: Chalvagne, and more specifically Castellet-Saint-Cassien. It’s a magnificent place, steeped in peace and serenity..." Jean Capitant, mountain hiking guide.
- At point 2: be careful on the steep ascent after the village of Castellet-Saint-Cassien.
- PASTORAL AREA: if livestock guardian dogs approach you, do not pet or threaten them. Stop, wait patiently for them to finish their "inspection", then calmly continue on your way, giving the flock as wide a berth as possible. It is best not to bring your dog; if you do, keep it on a tight leash. As a reminder, please review the best practices for encountering livestock guardian dogs.
- FIRE RISK: fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! Do not smoke or light any fires in the forest, as it is forbidden at all times of the year! And during the summer season, before you set out, check the access conditions and regulations for forest areas.
