Hiking - By the Water's Edge

In the heart of the Rougier de Camarès, an exceptional brick-colored landscape, the Dourdou river carves out a path that meanders between alluvial plain and hills, dotted with Mediterranean shrubs.

On the banks of a playful Dourdou where the heron pecks, the Rougier displays its Mediterranean biodiversity: thyme, holm oaks... But also its vitality: the Mas d’Azaïs statue-menhir, the 'jasses' (sheepfolds) and, overlooking the scenery, the Château de Montaigut, bear witness to human history in this unparalleled landscape.

In summer, this route is recommended in the morning (little shade).
