Hiking - From Arc 2000 to the Mont Pourri refuge
Phew! You're finally leaving civilization behind, but you'll see... you get used to it very quickly! This first stage of the trek winds through alpine pastures and takes you past several high-altitude lakes, as the Varet and Grand Col glaciers draw closer.
You'll move away from the large-scale infrastructure of the Les Arcs resort to enter a wild world of scree slopes, moraines, alpine pastures, lakes, passes, and ridges. Lac des Moutons, whose banks are covered with cottongrass in the summer, offers a superb panorama of the Bellecôte range, the Aiguille Rouge, Mont Blanc de Courmayeur, the Arêtes de Rochefort, and the Grandes Jorasses.
