Hiking - AUREL - The Riou Springs
A perfect walk to discover local tree species and play hide-and-seek with a little stream!
“This walk is a wonderful discovery. It has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. The landscapes are varied, with many sections through the forest. The route alternates between narrow paths and wider tracks, which keeps the pace interesting. And we were lucky enough to spot two mouflons on the scree slope before reaching the pine forest: it was amazing!” Elsa Aptel, Director of the Ventoux Sud Inter-municipal Tourist Office.
- At points 4 and 5: be careful when crossing the D942.
- PRIVATE PROPERTY: I will stay on the marked route, not enter the lavender and lavandin fields, and not pick any flowers.
- HUNTING: During hunting season, I will wear brightly coloured clothing, make my presence known, and respect the signs put up by hunters.
- GRAZING AREA: If livestock guardian dogs come towards me, I will not pet or threaten them. I will stop, then wait patiently for them to finish their "check" before calmly continuing on my way, giving the flock the widest possible berth. It is best not to bring your dog; if you do, keep it on a tight lead. As a reminder, review the correct procedures for encounters with livestock guardian dogs.
- FIRE RISK: Fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! I will not smoke or light fires in the forest, especially since it is forbidden year-round! And in the summer, before setting out, I will check the access conditions and regulations for forest areas.
