Hiking - AUREL - Land of Lavender

Between forests and lavender fields, enjoy the diverse Provençal landscapes starting from the magnificent village of Aurel!

"I arrive in Aurel and I already feel like I'm somewhere else... With the calm of the village and the intimacy of its narrow streets, the further you get from the houses, the more you feel like you're alone in the world, privileged to discover such an authentic place!". Chloé Giboin, Outdoor Sports Project Manager at the Mont-Ventoux Regional Natural Park.

  • At point 3, and then between points 7 and 8: be careful when crossing the D942, there is poor visibility!

  • After point 6: very eroded uphill path.

  • At point 9: steep and rocky path.

  • PRIVATE PROPERTY: stay on the marked trail, do not enter the lavender and lavandin fields, and do not pick any flowers.

  • HUNTING: during hunting season, wear brightly coloured clothing, make your presence known, and respect any signs put in place by hunters.

  • PASTORAL AREA: if you encounter livestock guardian dogs, do not pet or threaten them. Stop, wait patiently for them to "check you out", then calmly continue on your way, giving the flock as wide a berth as possible. It is best not to bring your own dog; if you do, keep it on a tight leash. As a reminder, review the correct way to behave around livestock guardian dogs.

  • FIRE RISK: fire is the enemy of the forest... and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest; it is forbidden year-round! And during the summer, before setting out, check the access conditions and regulations for forest areas.
