Hiking - Around the Couade

A pleasant walk with breathtaking viewpoints that will allow you to enjoy the Corrèze landscapes through the seasons!
Starting from Place de la République, near the town hall, and passing by the orientation table facing the Monédières, you'll admire the Couade, the emblem of the commune, perched on the well next to the church. The wooded and shaded paths lead you to the Étang de la Rechèze and the Chartreuse du Glandier, which you'll overlook as you gain elevation towards the village of La Grange Vieille.

1. Start from Place de la Mairie and take the path to the left of the buildings that climbs towards the houses. Once you reach the road, turn right.
2. Continue straight at the next intersection, leaving Rue des Monnaies on your left. Take the second left towards Rue du Château d’Eau and cross through the housing development. After 50 meters, you'll reach the orientation table on your left.
3. At the crossroads, turn left, pass in front of the water tower, and go down the road until the stop sign, then turn right.
4. At the second stop sign, turn left, then cross the road at the pedestrian crossing to walk alongside it on the right. After a few meters, turn right. Take time to observe the Couade and Troche Church. Go down Rue des Remparts, then continue to the left to reach the paved path.
5. At the end of this street, turn right and leave Rue des Remparts. You'll see apple orchards along the road.
6. When you reach the apple trees, turn left to take Chemin du Bélier.
7. At the Y-junction, take the path to the left towards the Étang de la Rechèze.
8. At the next bend, continue on the path, then go straight at the next intersection.
9. At the next bend, near the end of the pond, turn slightly left to stay on the path and enter the woods.
10. At the intersection of several paths, leave the two paths on the left and continue on the middle one, following the Glandier sign, then continue straight at the next intersections.
11. When you reach the road, turn right and walk along the path. At the end of the path, cross the road and turn right towards the Chartreuse.
12. After the next bend, turn right at Impasse du Glandier, pass in front of the house on the right, and enter the path.
13. Cross the Canal des Chartreux, then turn left and continue straight.
14. When you reach La Grange Vieille, turn right to take the road, then continue straight at the next two crossroads.
15. Just after the apple trees, turn right, walking alongside the meadow fence and the hedge of trees, and continue straight.
16. When you reach Route du Bos Redon, continue to the right and pass in front of a barn on the left.
17. Before reaching the main road, take the grassy path on the right, walking alongside the fences, then enter the path into the undergrowth.
18. When you reach the road, turn right, then take the first left, walk along the stadium, then go up the grassy path on the left. Once you reach the road, turn left, then turn right to return to the town hall.

Follow your common sense!
Bring shoes and clothing adapted to the weather; don't hesitate to take a swimsuit if the weather is good, as a swimming area is set up at the sports and nature center. 
Stay on marked trails. Respect private property. Respect animals. Take your waste with you and do not light fires. Leave only your footprints; you love nature, so respect it!
