Hiking - Around the Maison du Parc
The Maison du Parc Livradois-Forez, its administrative headquarters, is integrated with contemporary architecture at the foot of the classified church and the village. The project adhered to the HQE (High Environmental Quality) approach, reflecting the Park's commitment to integrating the building into the landscape, selecting local materials, ensuring bioclimatic, acoustic, and visual considerations, and executing a 'clean', environmentally friendly construction site. Clad in stone and wood, the Maison spans the bank of the Dore river, creating a series of terraces. It is composed of several low-lying, semi-buried structures,
tiered along the slope, offset according to the terrain's curves, and covered with vegetated roofs. The large volume of the Workshop, clad in wood and glass, recalls the architecture of the drying attics of paper mills or old starch factories... A successful dialogue between tradition and modernity, the Maison du Parc, designed by architect Antoine Bruhat and completed in 2001, exemplifies the sustainable development project of the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park.
