Hiking - Around Mont Alhérac
This loop starting from Fournels will take you around Mont Alhérac, which is crowned by the ruins of its medieval castle. The route climbs to the imposing Aussets farm, where there is a beautiful view of the Cantal volcanic massif, before reaching Termes.
On the way back, you will follow a section of the GR® de Pays Tour des Monts d’Aubrac.
WHAT TO SEE ALONG THE WAY:
• Fournels: church with a Romanesque chancel (12th c.) and bell-gable, Brion castle (15th-18th c.)
• Termes: church (17th c.), viewpoint indicator and panorama, Les Abeilles du Cantou honey farm
• Panoramas of the Margeride mountain range and the Monts du Cantal volcanic massif.
Caution when crossing the D989.
On the way back, you will follow a section of the GR® de Pays Tour des Monts d’Aubrac.
