Hiking - BÉDOIN - The Mont Ventoux Ridges

This high-altitude hike crosses summit ridges, scree slopes, and beech forests. A true distillation of the "Giant of Provence"!

« Yin, yang, and 'wow' moments everywhere you look: that's what this hike inspires in me! You truly discover the two faces of Mont Ventoux here: the South face and the North face, each offering breathtaking panoramic views. » Lise Colin, Ecotourism Officer at the Mont-Ventoux Regional Natural Park.

  • After the car park: exercise caution when crossing the D974.

  • WEATHER CONDITIONS: This itinerary is not recommended in adverse weather conditions (strong wind, rain, snow, ice...). Before setting off, check the summit weather forecast.

  • HUNTING: During hunting season, wear bright-colored clothing, make yourself clearly visible, and respect the signage put in place by hunters.

  • PASTORAL AREA: If livestock guarding dogs approach you, do not pet or threaten them. Stop and wait patiently for them to finish their 'check' before calmly resuming your journey, skirting the herd as widely as possible. Preferably, do not bring your dog; if you do, keep it on a leash. For reference, consult best practices when encountering livestock guarding dogs.

  • FIRE RISK: Fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest, as it is prohibited regardless of the season! During summer, before setting out, check the conditions and regulations for access to forest areas.
