Hiking - Crève-Tête Loop from Novallay

A loop suspended between the Morel and Les Belleville valleys. From the Col du Gollet, the trail follows the ridgeline, offering an exceptional panoramic view.
Roe deer, foxes, and marmots are often spotted along the trail. From the Col du Gollet, you'll have a stunning view overlooking Valmorel. A cross, erected in 1935 to protect Les Avanchers-Valmorel from avalanches, marks the summit of Crève-Tête. A magnificent 360° panorama then opens up, with views of the Aravis, Beaufortain, Mont Blanc, La Vanoise, Les Encombres, La Lauzière... and, far in the distance, La Meije and Les Ecrins.

From the small car park at the top of the village of Novallay (1350m), follow the paved road to the wooden signpost for "Crève Tête" and "col du Gollet".

At the signpost, take the wide trail to your right.

Further up, another signpost points towards Crève-Tête. Continue climbing in this direction, making your way up through the large valley towards the Col du Gollet, which you can see at the very top.

From the Col du Gollet (1971m), you'll have sweeping views down over the resort of Valmorel on one side and the Les Belleville valley on the other.
Next, take the small trail (northeast) that winds along the cliff face towards the summit. This section of the trail is a bit steep but poses no particular difficulties.

At the summit, the landscape is picturesque, and the 360° panorama takes in the Aravis, Beaufortain, Mont Blanc, La Vanoise, Les Encombres, La Lauzière... and far in the distance, La Meije and Les Ecrins!

This hike presents no major difficulty, aside from a somewhat steep section between the Col du Gollet and the summit.
