Walking - Dame Blanche Loop: A scenic balcony walk

Looking for an easy, family-friendly trail? Head for the Dame Blanche Loop which, starting from the town hall in Salins-les-Thermes, winds its way into the forest and offers some beautiful views of the Vanoise mountains.
This short woodland hike will let you gain some elevation. Along beautiful forest paths, you'll easily reach the route's various viewpoints, particularly those overlooking the town of Salins-les-Thermes. Did you know? This spa town is renowned for its beneficial waters, which are rich in salt and iron.

You will appreciate the tranquility of this trail overlooking Moûtiers and Salins-les-Thermes, as well as the panoramic views with the Vanoise peaks on the horizon.


Start: Salins Fontaine town hall
Take the road that goes up behind the Saint-Maurice church, then turn left at the junction towards Champoulet Village.
At the car park in the centre of Champoulet village, take the stairs then turn right and follow the road.


The trail begins where this road ends. The walk becomes more leisurely, with no real difficulty, and offers fine views over Moûtiers.


Then follow the red and white signs for the "Circuit de la Dame Blanche" to the first houses on the hills above the village.


Take the road and head down to the crossroads. Then turn right onto the Route de Melphe, and continue down to the junction with Rue du colonnel Duboin, which will take you back to the town centre and the Salins Fontaine town hall.
