Walking - Petite-Terre Loop
This trail is located in the Ilets de Petite-Terre National Nature Reserve (est. 1998); please respect the regulations.
The Ilets de Petite-Terre National Nature Reserve is exceptional for its terrestrial and marine habitats, which are a major component of the Guadeloupe archipelago's biodiversity. This biological diversity is due to the juxtaposition of various ecosystems in a relatively small area. Environments such as salt marshes, the lagoon, coral reefs, seagrass beds, and dry forest enrich the reserve's biodiversity. (RNN Petite Terre)
From the back of the coconut grove, take the small uphill path towards the lighthouse. Go around it, then continue towards the eastern point of the islet (along the coast). The trail continues in a loop to the north before returning to the coconut grove by the lagoon.
The coastline of the Petite-Terre islets is a nesting site for sea turtles. Please respect the beaches!
In the outdoors, extra caution and vigilance are required, especially as Guadeloupe is subject to natural hazards. Responsible behaviour is essential to ensure that hiking remains a pleasure!
Warning: No lifeguard on duty.
