Hiking - Loop of the Waterfalls (B14)
Discover the Morel waterfalls before climbing up to the top of the Altispace where a great view awaits you.
Begin the loop of the waterfalls at Valmorel ski station, on a small track behind the Mottet tennis courts, at 1 400m altitude. Trek through the forest until arriving at the Prariond, a large open space with a chalet restaurant and gateway to the pastures of the Pierrafort Mountain.
Walk up past the ski lift and, after a brief stairway, walk along the hillside to the Plan Salin (1 760m), the heart of the waterfalls, from where you’ll access the magnificent water formations along a nice path.
Continue up-hill until the top of the Altispace chair-lift where a great view of the Morel Valley, down to Aigueblanche and up to the Mont-Blanc awaits.
Take a brief downhill section called ‘the 51 turns’ and go, once again, through the forest which leads you back to the starting point.
Caution, you may cross bikes during the first part of the hike, before arriving at the waterfalls.
Highly discouraged during strong rain or storms due to flow rate of the waterfalls.
