Hiking - Cascade du Devez, short loop
In the heart of the Roquette Bonneval State Forest, this waymarked and maintained hiking loop lets you discover one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Aubrac region, the 30-metre-high Cascade du Devèz, as well as a wolf pit.
This shady walk through the state forest, a mix of beech and coniferous trees, is a welcome treat! And a great reward awaits: a beautiful 30 m high waterfall gushing out from the middle of basalt columns. The Cascade du Devez is only accessible on foot, and depending on the season, the surrounding beech trees will be either a tender, bright green in spring or a reddish-orange in autumn. The discovery of a wolf pit along the way will stir the imagination, evoking tales and legends. If you choose the long version of the trail, a large part of the hike offers a breathtaking panorama of the Aubrac plateau and its foothills!
