Hiking - Cascade du Devez, long loop
In the heart of the Roquette Bonneval National Forest, this waymarked and well-maintained hiking loop leads you to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Aubrac region, the 30-meter-high Cascade du Devèz, as well as a historic wolf trap.
This shady walk through a national forest of beech and coniferous trees is a real treat! It comes with a big reward: a stunning 30-meter waterfall that gushes out from amidst basalt columns.
The Cascade du Devez is only accessible on foot. Depending on the season, the surrounding beech trees will be a tender to vibrant green in spring or a fiery red-orange in autumn. Discovering a wolf trap along the way will spark the imagination, evoking tales and legends. This long version of the trail allows you to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Aubrac plateau and its foothills for a good portion of the hike!
(A shorter, 5 km version of this hike is also available, with the same start and end point).
