Walking - Chavillon - La Grand-Croix No. 3
Following the path of the old 'La Galoche' railway line, go past the 'Effet Passementerie' factory and then the lake. While largely urban, this circuit has some lovely surprises in store.
Start from the Parc de La Platière on the RD88 road (note the park's closing times posted at the entrance). At the Bachasse roundabout, take rue de Farnay, which runs alongside the old retaining wall of the "La Galoche" railway line, and head up to the Croix de Bois (cemetery). At the intersection with rue de Burlat, turn right onto route de La Merlanchonnière and continue to the bridge over the Dorlay. Go through the "Effets Passementeries" archway.
Follow the left-hand path towards the market gardens (greenhouses). At the junction, turn left onto rue de la grande écluse. At the bottom, take the dirt path that leads to Les Blondières until you reach a stop sign. Turn left and continue to the stadium entrance.
Turn left and cross the footbridge over the Dorlay, opposite the Les Flaches housing project. Follow rue Sauzéa to the right for 600 m until you reach the RD 88. To the right, head towards the "Carrefour Market" roundabout in Lorette. Go under the SNCF railway bridge and continue to the Ermont company building. Take the path on the right along the Dorlay river. Cross the metal footbridge over the confluence of the Gier and Dorlay rivers. Then, go over the motorway. Head left and cross the La Faverge stone bridge. Turn right onto rue de Piney. Cross the route de La Péronnière, which runs alongside the ADAPEI buildings. Turn left onto the path through the community gardens; it leads to the old Chavillon bridge, of which only the two piers remain.
Go through the underpass beneath the motorway to reach La Platière via "Moulinages de la Rive". Take the cul-de-sac to the Parc de la Platière.
