Walking - Volan Malleval Trail No. 3
The hike first takes you towards the Château de Volan, which is made up of several parts from successive historical periods. A building with a Genoise eave and a tiled roof. The trail then descends into the vineyards before crossing through the entire village of Malleval.
Please note: there is little overall elevation change, but there are a few steep sections.
Head north towards the factory, then go uphill to the right at the boules court and cross the road to take the Chemin des Crozes. At the road, turn right then left, towards Natuel. Veer left. After the stream, you will pass an old washhouse; go around it to the left and head back up towards the vineyards. After two bends and a steady climb, you will reach Chanson. Get back on the road towards Chantel and continue straight on to the Château de Volan. Continue onto the path that goes downhill to the left. After a few hundred metres, leave the descent to take a very sunken path on the right. The slope quickly levels out and continues as a balcony trail through the vineyards, below the château. Continue until you reach a wooded valley. Cross it, then continue on to the southern entrance of the village. Cross the bridge over the Epervier river (option to go to the Saut de Laurette by following trail no. 1) and turn right to join Rue des Fabriques. Heading uphill to the right, you will find Rue du Bourg. The car park is 200 metres away.
