Hiking - Col de l'Arc
After starting on a moderate uphill section of about 1.5km through the beautiful meadows of Les Foyères (1137m), the path rises a little more into the forest.
Make a good ascent to reach the mountain pasture of Montagne d'en Bas (1515m) and then Montagne d'en Haut (1615), both grazed by a herd of goats during the summer months. Take advantage of a flat area where you can recuperate. The route then offers some superb viewpoints. Pass close to a pretty wetland. To reach the Col de l'Arc (1854m), the route then alternates between wide forest roads and small paths. Close to the Col, enter a new, well-cleared mountain pasture area with the summit of Mont Bellachat (2484m) in the spotlight. A well-equipped but unguarded open chalet is located at the pass.
Then descend through alpine pastures and forest, past the Fraitière's chalet (1650m) and sometimes past sheep pens. In this case, pass close to the guard dogs of the flocks. Adopt a calm and passive behaviour, go around the park and never cross the flock.
Reach the starting point by alternating wide and narrow paths.
Loop not recommended for beginners or walkers who do not have a minimum requirement due to its length and unevenness.
