Hiking - Croix de Gratassac
A route with some steep sections, but richly rewarded at the summits: breathtaking panoramas of Mont Lozère, the lake, and the town of Villefort.
Gratassac is the only high point overlooking Villefort, offering a 360° view with spectacular sights of the lake, Castanet, La Garde Guérin, the Saint Loup Chapel, and the Mont Lozère range.
Along the route, directional posts guide you. The names of places and/or directions to follow are indicated in bold italics and quotes in the description below:
From « Villefort », head towards « Av. de la Gare » then « Rond Point du Lac », « Pisciculture », and climb up to « CROIX DE GRATASSAC ».
Continue to « Col de l'Arjala » then « L'Adrec », « L'Affenadou », « Les Hauts des Sédaries ». Take the « Chemin des Fangouses », then descend to « Pl. de l'Ormeau ».
