Hiking - From La Chambre train station to the Refuge de la Grande Léchère

A woodland escape from the train station to the Refuge de la Grande Léchère. In the heart of the Lauzière Massif, the route is dotted with stunning viewpoints over the Maurienne valley.

This beautiful stage of the Tour de la Lauzière ascends from the foothills to the mountain zone. Very pleasant in hot weather, the forest canopy does not detract from the panoramic valley views. On the way to the refuge at Lac de la Grande Léchère, historical remains can be found along the route: the castle of the Lords of la Chambre, the abandoned hamlet of Derandières, a cup-marked stone... Once at Lac de la Grande Léchère, hikers will discover an exceptional panorama of the Belledonne range and the Aiguilles d'Arves, among others!
