Walking - From la Trèverie to the Church Square - Trèves n°2
A walk in the hills above the village, reaching its highest point of 400 m at Pet de Montagny.
Leave the village via the hamlet of Bret. The trail then offers a panoramic view of the village of Trèves, the hamlet of Dizimieux, and the Monts du Lyonnais.
After passing through a wood of black pines (this wood was used to shore up the mine shafts in the Gier valley and the St. Etienne region), you will reach Pet Montagny, the highest point in the municipality of Trèves (400 m).
The trail then runs alongside the D 502 and descends along "l’Allée des Dames," which is lined with a row of plane trees, to reach the hamlet of la Dhuire. In the centre of the hamlet, you will notice a beautiful Mission Cross erected in 1888.
Go via the hamlet of Garon to return to the village of Trèves.
Everyone is responsible for their own safety. Therefore, you hike at your own risk. Stay on the marked trails to protect fragile areas.
A few useful recommendations:
Check the weather forecast before you leave
Some routes cross busy roads: Be careful
Keep dogs on a leash
Do not light fires
Take your litter with you
Enjoy the flowers, but do not pick them.
Tick bites can lead to serious diseases. As a precaution: wear clothing that covers your skin, use repellent, check your body upon your return, remove ticks using a tick remover tool without applying any substance to the tick, and see a doctor in case of redness, flu-like symptoms, or if you are in an at-risk group.
For emergency services, dial 18 or 112.
