Hiking - From Montabès to Bès-Bédène
From the ancient oppidum of Montabès, an easy hike through a rejuvenating forest to the remarkable site of Bès-Bédène, following a section of the old Roman road that connected Rodez to Clermont-Ferrand.
The 360° view takes in the old Cantal volcanoes and the Aubrac plateau. Numerous notable trees guide your steps towards Bès-Bédène, which you can spot on the other side of the Selves gorges.
You may have to cross fields with herds of cows in two places; bring a walking stick for reassurance if needed. Dogs must be kept on a lead.
