Walking - Peatland discovery route
A peat bog is a wetland, colonized by vegetation, whose particular ecological conditions have allowed the formation of a soil consisting of a real fossil plant rock. In the case of the Hanau peat bog, mainly Sphagnum (mosses that absorb large amounts of water), but thanks to the association with the pond and peat habitats, the site is also rich in dragonflies and amphibians.
The trail begins on the pontoon in front of the restaurant "La voile blanche", approaches the water on the peat bog, then goes into the pine forest to return to the start.
26 explanatory and beautifully illustrated markers punctuate the path and accompany the visitors to allow them to discover the different natural and landscape atmospheres of the course.
A walk of nearly 2 km, tracing nearly 10,000 years of history, to do with family, to know everything and understand about the treasures and riches of this peat-pond.
