Hiking - From the Vallonbrun refuge to the Bellecombe car park

Lush and gentle alpine meadows! Hikers make their way through grassy terraces, under the watchful eye of the Vanoise glaciers.
Following the GR5 and the Via Alpina, this stage reveals the mountain's high-pasture side!  It is in these summer pastures that Beaufort, Tome de Savoie, and Bleu de Termignon cheeses are made. Along the way, the luckiest hikers might spot the aerial ballet of griffon vultures and the bearded vulture.

If you push on to the Refuge de Plan du Lac, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of the Mont-Cenis range and the border peaks.
Leaving the refuge, cross the track and pick up the GR5 on the other side, a balcony trail to the Cuchet refuge. Go past the refuge and take the trail that stays level, not the one that drops down below.
At the hamlet of Cuchet, the path becomes a track and follows the boundary of the Park's core zone, marked by the blue, white, and red colours.
Don't miss the path that climbs back up towards the Turra de Termignon at Pré Vaillant. Once at Pré Chamois, climb up to the Turra de Termignon.
From the summit, it's an easy-going descent down to the Bellecombe car park.

You can spend the night at the Lac Blanc refuge, the Auberge de Bellecombe refuge, or the Plan du Lac refuge, all located in the same area.
