Hiking - From the Refuge des Souffles to the Refuge de l'Olan

This refuge-to-refuge traverse offers breathtaking views over one of the must-see valleys of the Écrins: the Valgaudemar Valley. All accessible by bus!
Minerality is the key word of this itinerary, where the gaze wanders into a wild and unspoiled landscape. Around a bend in the trail, a striking panorama: the summits touch the sky, towering above the deep blue of Lake Lautier. Silence, light, verticality… the mountain in all its power.
The first stage crosses a lush setting, with an uphill path that winds in switchbacks through abundant vegetation.

At the start of this second day of ascent, the trail already offers us a marvel: Lake Lautier, nestled in its mineral setting. An invitation to contemplation before resuming the climb toward the Pas de l'Olan.

The third and final day unfolds with a beautiful descent, allowing you to admire the splendid Combefroide waterfall before returning to the valley after this mineral interlude.
During the 1st stage: be cautious on some cliffside passages and beware of rockfalls in case of heavy rain.
