Hiking - FLASSAN - La Combe de Canaud

From the village of Flassan, discover one of the wild combes of Mont Ventoux, an old path once used by shepherds and charcoal burners.

“I discovered the history and traditions of Mont Ventoux, pastoralism and its *jas* (shepherds’ huts), the Combe de Canaud and its old charcoal burning sites.” Chloé Giboin, Outdoor Sports Project Manager at the Mont-Ventoux Regional Natural Park.

  • HUNTING: during hunting season, I will wear brightly coloured clothing, make my presence clearly known, and respect any signs put up by hunters.

  • PASTORAL AREA: if I encounter livestock guardian dogs, I will not pet or threaten them. I will stop, wait patiently for them to "check me out", and then calmly continue on my way, giving the flock as wide a berth as possible. It is best not to bring your dog; if you do, keep it on a tight leash. As a reminder, please review the correct way to act around livestock guardian dogs.

  • FIRE RISK: fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! I will not smoke or light a fire in the forest, as it is forbidden in all seasons! And during the summer, before setting out on a walk, I will check the access conditions and regulations for forest areas.
