Hiking - GARDE-COLOMBE - Riou and Revuaire

Tackle Revuaire mountain on this hiking loop that will take you to new heights!

"I love this challenging trail, which combines a variety of settings: first, the soothing coolness of the forest, then a rocky landscape before reaching a greener one. The effort to climb to the summit of Revuaire mountain is amply rewarded by the spectacular view over the Cirque de Saint-Genis! From the top, you can also admire the peaks of Dévoluy, Chabre, Arambre, and Aujour. Simply magnificent!". Kim Chapuis, Project Manager for Sports and Outdoor Activities at the Baronnies Provençales Regional Natural Park.

  • Before waypoint 2: be careful when passing the beehives along the edge of the field.

  • At waypoint 6: take care at the summit of Revuaire; the trail runs along a cliff edge.

  • Between waypoints 7 and 8: the trail is faint, follow the cairns carefully.

  • PEACE AND QUIET: I respect the tranquility of the area where I am hiking. I avoid shouting or using sound systems (radios, speakers, etc.) out of respect for other users and for the wildlife, which is particularly vulnerable during breeding or wintering seasons.

  • WILD PLANTS: I refrain from picking the flowers and plants found along the trail. Some are protected species, and they all contribute to the rich local biodiversity.

  • SUMMER MONTHS: Part of the route is exposed to the sun. In summer, I bring enough water, a hat, and sunscreen, and I set off early in the morning to avoid the intense heat.

  • FIRE RISK: Fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! I will not smoke or light fires in the forest, especially as it is forbidden year-round! And in the summer months, before setting out on a hike, I will check the conditions and regulations for access to forest areas.
