Hiking - GORDES - The Gordes Pass

Gordes beyond the village, or the diamond revealed!

« A true journey through time, this walk starts in the medieval atmosphere of the village. The cobbled streets gently lead us towards the typical landscapes of Provence. The Chemin de Bel-Air offers a spectacular view of the village, the Gordes plain, and the Luberon, a living canvas of striking beauty. Throughout the route, dry-stone walls and oratories remind us of the ancestral know-how of the local inhabitants, where nature and heritage intertwine. » Eddie Yaffé, stay advisor at the OTI Destination Luberon.

  • After this point, at point 4, and before points 8 and 9: exercise caution with traffic when crossing or using the road!

  • We are all guests of nature! Stick to the designated trail, respect private property and the tranquility of natural areas, avoid picking wild plants, leave rocks, minerals, and fossils undisturbed, and take all your litter home...

  • CAUTION: PASTORAL AREA from early June to late July in the Gordes plain: If you encounter livestock guardian dogs that approach you, do not pet or threaten them. Stop, then wait patiently for the end of their 'inspection' before calmly resuming your path, circumnavigating the herd as widely as possible. Preferably, do not bring your own dog, or if you do, keep it firmly on a leash. For more information, consult guidelines on how to behave when encountering livestock guardian dogs.

  • FIRE RISK. Fire is the enemy of the forest... and of hikers! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest, as it is forbidden regardless of the season! And during summer, before setting out, check the conditions and regulations for accessing forest areas.
