Hiking - GORDES - Le moulin Jean-de-Marre
A mix of nature and heritage, this short out-and-back trail is well worth the detour!
"The further you go, the more beautiful it gets! With every step, the landscape never ceases to surprise. The balcony path, which is quite steep and rocky in places, transports you to another world of serenity and silence. The plunging view over the Véroncle gorges is complemented by more intimate glimpses of old retaining walls, rock-dwelling flowers, and lace-like cliff faces. Every time I return, the views are breathtaking!". Axelle Baumard - Intern at the Luberon Regional Nature Park.
- At the start and on the return, be careful of traffic on the 280 m section along the D15!
- After point 4: do not enter the ruins of the Moulin Jean-de-Marre (risk of collapse!). Also, be careful not to climb on the old walls; this heritage site is fragile.
- Above or below the mill, do not go near the mountain stream if it is in flood. This is especially important just after a storm or in rainy weather, as the rocks become slippery.
- FIRE RISK: Fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! I do not smoke or light fires in the forest, as it is forbidden in every season! And in summer, before setting out, I check the access conditions and regulations for forested areas.
