Hiking - GORDES - The Gordes Maquis Trail via Véroncle
Follow in the footsteps of the resistance fighters of the Gordes Secret Army.
To preserve the memory of the Resistance in Gordes during the Second World War, the local "Cadets de la Résistance" association has waymarked and added information panels to two "memorial trails" around Gordes. This second loop (B), to the east of Gordes, takes you to places steeped in history, such as the stele of a Maquis fighter, and past several mills of Véroncle, of which only ruins remain.
- Be careful when crossing the D2, both at the start and on the return!
- After waypoint 3, watch your ankles on the rocky descent.
- Before waypoint 4: river crossing (ford). Do not hesitate to turn back if the river is high!
- At waypoint 4: do not enter the ruins of the Moulin Jean-de-Marre (risk of collapse!)
