Walking - Guillestre - Pain de Sucre

Exceptional 360° panoramic view over the entire Guillestrois region.
The trail gently climbs up to the Pain de Sucre. It is a pleasant and easy route with beautiful landscapes as a backdrop throughout the entire walk.
Follow the road uphill past the cinema, and after about 200m, take the Route de la Longeagne on your right. The route crosses the Longeagne housing estate then leads onto a country path at the foot of the Pain de Sucre. It follows the canal on the left for a few metres.
Then, by turning right, you can reach the summit of the Pain de Sucre via a small path. From there, you can see the steep-sided Queyras valley to the northeast and, to the southwest, the town of Guillestre with its hay meadows, orchards, and a few vineyards.
The view is panoramic, taking in the Guillestre plateau, the far end of the Guil valley, the Écrins glaciers in the distance, and the Mont-Dauphin fortress... The return journey follows the same route and presents no difficulty.
