Hiking - Colle del Pas and Cima Pian Ballaur

Easy, well-signposted trails to Colle del Pas, and an intuitive climb without any difficulty to Cima Pian Ballaur, make for a long but thoroughly rewarding excursion.

This is a very interesting and varied route, allowing you to observe many typical karst phenomena up close—sometimes with a short detour from the trail—as well as erratic boulders and mysterious menhirs. The small Lago Rataira is beautiful, and the ascent to Cima Pian Ballaur is highly rewarding. It is less frequented only because it is a few dozen metres lower than the surrounding peaks: however, the views it offers are remarkable and stretch all the way to the sea.
