Walking - The Old Mill

A very easy and family-friendly walk in this long, open valley that connects Bagnols-les-Bains to Mende, with a path winding through charming hamlets along the Lot River.
In the square with the beautiful fountain, discover a traditional "travail à ferrer," once used to attach shoes to cows and oxen. This is one of the few places where the Lot River takes a wild and rugged turn as it suddenly cuts through granite.
Along the route, directional posts guide you, as well as yellow paint markers. The place names and/or directions to follow are indicated in bold italics and enclosed in quotation marks in the description below:

Starting from “Chadenet”, head towards “Lou Claoux”, “Carapasse”, “Village”, then return to “Lou Claoux”, “Chadenet”.

This walk is from the cartoguide Mont Lozère, Pays des Sources, from the mountain of Goulet to the Bramont gorges, produced by the Pôle nature of Mont Lozère.
Adapt your equipment to the day's weather conditions. Remember that mountain weather can change quickly. Make sure to bring enough water, good shoes, and a hat. Always close fences and gates properly.
