Hiking - L'Espinas
Atypical, this trail through the Cévennes valleys allows you to discover a sprawling commune made up of several small, authentic hamlets, a characteristic feature of Cévenol settlements.
Old silkworm farms, schist stone houses, chestnut groves… you will discover traces of a life deeply shaped by agropastoralism.
Along the route, directional posts guide you as well as yellow trail markers. The place names and/or directions to follow are indicated in bold italics and in quotes in the description below:
From "LE RELAIS DE L'ESPINAS", head towards "Le Cros" then "Col de Banette".
Return to "LE RELAIS DE L'ESPINAS" via the "Draille de l'Espinas".
Route extracted from the cartoguide Mont Lozère - Pays des sources, Sommet des Cévennes, produced by the Mont Lozère Outdoor Activities Center.
No particular difficulty. Suitable for families. On-site refreshments available.
