Hiking - The Saut du Gier waterfall from La Jasserie

A beautiful hike, but with significant elevation gain. Wear a good pair of walking shoes, as the path is steep and heavily eroded.
Just a trickle of water in summer, in autumn and spring it forms a magnificent waterfall near a large chirat.
Warning: There is a 607 m elevation change between La Jasserie and Saut du Gier. This route is for experienced hikers only and follows a rugged trail. Go to La Jasserie near the barn and take the level path to start; this is the GR®7. Follow it to the Paumet crossroads. From there, leave the GR®7 trail markers and head downhill towards Scie Du Bost, following only the brown and white no. 4 waymarks. Before reaching the hamlet (at the large beech tree), take the path on the left heading up to the Saut du Gier waterfall. Return by the same route.

All hikers are responsible for their own safety. Hikes are therefore undertaken at your own risk. Please stay on the waymarked trails to protect these fragile areas.

Some useful recommendations:

  • Take all your litter home with you.
