Hiking - The Fox's Cave
The smallest, most playful, but also the most challenging in terms of navigation: quite chaotic, it crosses a significant number of rocks. Note that during rainy periods, the circuit becomes impassable as the rocks get too slippery.
This short walk of one and a half kilometers offers everything needed to entertain children: wide open spaces, rock blocks perfect for playing hide-and-seek, and finally, a real little cave to explore like an adventurer!
There’s something for the adults too: extraordinary views of the Chassezac, an exceptional mineral landscape in the heart of the Païolive forest, and (last but not least) some shade!
Along the route, directional posts will guide you. The names of the directions to follow are indicated in bold italics and enclosed in quotation marks in the description below:
1 - L'Agachou - Follow "Le Moulinas 0.6 km" (green and yellow markers).
2 - "Le Moulinas" - Follow "Grotte du Renard 0.4 km" (green markers).
This circuit, described as "easy," remains rocky, and even steep and slippery after rain. A pair of suitable shoes is necessary.
Adapt your equipment to the day's weather conditions. Remember that mountain weather can change quickly. Be sure to bring enough water and a hat. Always close fences and gates properly.
It is important to stay on the marked trails in order to preserve this fragile environment, which is identified as an ecological site in the European Natura 2000 network and a sensitive natural area.
