Hiking - La Maison de Maugis

This loop trail takes us through woodlands and offers some beautiful heritage sights. Maison-Maugis is a little gem set in a haven of peace that this trail will help you discover!
A shorter variant (which reduces the route by 1km) is also possible.
This route is also suitable for mountain bikes and hybrid bikes.

This loop begins near the bridge over the Commeauche river, crosses through the village to the château, then follows a path alongside its gardens to join the GR®22 trail, which you follow along a magnificent forest path. The return leg winds along the hillside bordering the valley, through a classic bocage landscape of alternating fields and orchards. In the village, a short detour to the Saint-Nicolas church is a must, where a 16th-century stained-glass window and a 17th-century ensemble comprising an altar, altarpiece, tabernacle, and painting are well worth a visit.

Between points 5 and 6 on the route, caution is required when walking along the 400m stretch of the D291 road.
