Hiking - LA MARTRE - L'Avelanier

This circuit between La Martre and Châteauvieux alternates between wooded sections and stretches along the Frayieres and Font Freye streams.

This hike will lead you along old paths to discover these neighbouring villages, nestled in a wild landscape. You will approach Châteauvieux from below through the fields, and La Martre from above via the hill with its many viewpoints. By extending the walk to the Pont de Madame, you will discover a beautiful bridge standing over the Artuby river, facing the Brouis mountain.

Avoid intense summer heat; set out early. Be sure to bring: 2L of water per person, a hat, and hiking boots. Recommended seasons: summer, spring, autumn. Do not disturb the sheep, which are used to the tranquillity of these mountains.
