Hiking - The Butter Lump (B11)
Stroll around the high Nâves Valley
A few hundred meters after leaving the Nant du Beurre refuge, a small clear mountain lake emerges at the foot of the Dzonfié (2 455 m), highest peak of the Nâves Valley.
From there on, follow a balcony path brimming with Ericaceae flowers (rhododendrons, blueberries…) which offers a great variety of colours. Then go downhill towards the Beauregard Chalet (1 969 m), and take the Grand Tour de Tarentaise path followed by the Tour de Beaufortain variant to loop back up with the Nant du Beurre refuge.
This loop can be done by all hikers including active families with children as it presents no major difficulties.
