Hiking - La Palombe
Up there, everything is beautiful! The meadows, the ruins, the bluish-shaded mountains… Bonperrier is a magical place to take a break or enjoy a picnic.
This trail is a living testimony to the history of the Cévennes. Farmers still graze their herds here, shaping and maintaining this open landscape. Located on a ridge, along the transhumance route, Bonperrier is a resting stage for the sheep and shepherds heading up to summer pastures. A wide panorama opens before you: Mont Aigoual and Mont Lozère on one side, and the Hérault valley with the sea in the distance on the other…!
Before setting out on a trail, check that it is suitable for your activity and level. Remember that the weather changes quickly in the mountains. Be sure to carry enough water and close gates behind you. This is grazing land: beware of livestock guardian dogs – keep your dog on a leash.
