Hiking - LE BEAUSSET - Tête de Cade

The shaded path through this forest gem offers glimpses of remnants testifying to the past exploitation of the Provençal hills.

"I enjoy exploring this site because I interact with its landscape! I like to imagine that the Aleppo pines and holm oaks try to conceal the structures built in eras when the local forest was more directly exploited. I then try to unearth as many as possible: an old hunting blind (agachon), stone heaps (pierriers), a low wall, kilns, a signature carved into a slab. My hike becomes a journey through time and a treasure hunt, with an 's' on the end." Marjorie Ughetto, naturalist guide, Autres Regards.

During summer, this site is highly susceptible to fire risk. Consequently, access is regulated from June 21 to September 20. Please check the access conditions for forest areas, which are updated daily on the Var prefecture's website.
