Walking - Le bonheur est dans le Bois

The Sully Lime Tree

A symbol of justice and peace since antiquity, the lime tree was often planted to celebrate the return of peace. In France, at the initiative of Sully, minister of Henry IV, many squares, such as in Saint-Romain or Saillant, hosted this beautiful tree. During the Revolution, the lime tree became “the tree of liberty.”
