Hiking - Le Chemin du Tacot

From the Ternin valley to the wooded hills that overlook it, Alligny offers a rich heritage, such as its numerous historical remains and its old "Tacot" railway line.
The Museum of Wet Nurses and Children of Public Assistance.
Since the end of the 18th century, the practice of wet nursing, particularly for children from public assistance, was common and a source of additional income for the people of the Morvan region. It involved tens of thousands of children, women, and families. Integrated into the Morvan Ecomuseum, the wet nurse museum evokes these destinies through a lively scenography where historical data and sensitive testimonies are intertwined. The route follows that of children taken in by public assistance, "on-site" wet nurses who remained in the Morvan region
and those who went to the city to breastfeed children other than their own.
