Hiking - The Chardonnet Pass
The Chardonnet Pass is a great classic of the Clarée Valley, a hike offering breathtaking views of the Écrins Massif.
Starting with a pleasant climb through the woods, this variant of the GR57 trail passes the old alpine chalets of Laraux before reaching the Chardonnet refuge, nestled at the foot of the Queyrellin ridges at an altitude of 2,222 m. Higher up, the vast Chardonnet high-altitude marsh marks the beginning of the final climb, leading to this unique viewpoint over the Barre des Écrins and La Meije.
