Hiking - Le collet de Doizieux - Doizieux n°2
From the car park at the north entrance, cross the village heading towards Le Collet. After 200m, you will reach the road. Cross it, go up the path, then take the first trail on your right and descend to the La Frachure river. Turn left (a few metres before the tarmac) and continue to the hamlet of Les Hermeaux. Cross the road and take a grassy trail on the right lined with mounds of stones (cleared from the fields to allow for farming), which leads to La Bonnetanche. Cross the road, go past Luclas, and take the stony path on the right to reach Le Collet de Doizieux. Leave the wide track on your left and climb a trail through the deciduous trees. Before heading back down, make a short out-and-back trip to admire the view over the Rhône Valley and the Alps. Descend and, at the signposts, follow the direction for Doizieux; on the left, take the time to stop at Roche Beurlante for a breathtaking view with a panorama stretching to Pierre-sur-Haute. Legend has it that this was a place where shepherds used to communicate with each other. Follow the trail markers back to Doizieux.
