Hiking - Le Fournel - Maisoncelle Saint-Romain-les-Atheux n°2

In the north-western part of the municipality, this is a very pleasant walk over the Fournel and Montamoger plateaus, offering beautiful views of the Ondaine valley, the Forez mountains, and the village of St-Romain les Atheux.
You will discover the Valchérie stream, a favourite among trout fishermen.
From the cemetery, go down and turn right towards the bakery.
Make your way to the stadium via the Chemin du Valchérie.
Follow the paved road and take the path on the right in front of the house. You will cross the Valchérie.
Upon reaching Le Chier, follow the road to the crossroads. Turn right towards Le Fournel.
Follow the waymarking. On the downhill section, take a track on the left down to the Valchérie stream.
Climb back up to the RD22. Go down the road for 50m. Caution: at the bend, go behind the guardrail, cross the road and take a steep path on your right.
Climb parallel to the road up to the bend at the top of the switchbacks. Follow the path up to the junction with Park trail n°2.
Turn right and follow the path to the first house, then turn right again onto the path climbing up to the road.
In the hamlet of Maisoncelle, follow Chemin de Maisoncelle to the left until you reach La Loge.
At La Loge, turn left onto Chemin de Mirande, then right onto Chemin du Play as far as La Bascule.
Take Chemin de Pételon on the left behind the bus shelter, then turn right onto Chemin du Pêcher. Cross the RD22 with care, then head down to the pond.
Take the path along the mill race.
Return to the cemetery through the village.

To prevent them: wear long clothing, use repellents, check your body upon your return, remove ticks with a tick remover tool without applying any substance to them, and consult a doctor if you notice any redness, flu-like symptoms, or if you are in an at-risk group.
