Hiking - Lac du Loup: a family nature getaway

A picture-postcard spot, perfect for contemplative breaks, picnics, or fishing.

Nestled between the ski resort of Saint-François Longchamp and the small village of Montaimont, Lac du Loup is a popular spot for hikers, families, and anglers seeking peace and quiet. Located at an altitude of 1520 m, this haven of peace is an ideal playground for fans of trout, perch, carp, tench, pike, and chub. In winter, this intimate location offers new delights: as part of the Grand Coin Nordic area, the snow-covered paths become cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails.

From the La Planche car park, next to the inn, take the marked trail opposite (signposted) that heads to the right (East). Follow this path, which runs pleasantly alongside the Settaz stream, as far as the mill of the same name.

Cross the stream and follow it due north towards Chalet des Combes. Go around the north side of the chalet. The slope becomes a little steeper and heads east. Continue on this path, then bear right in the direction of Taramur and le Loup.

Lac du Loup is just a little further on.
