Hiking - LE MAS - Montagne de Charamel

Gain some altitude on this woodland hike in the heart of the Estéron valley.

<<This hike stands out from others in the Park because the route is almost entirely in the forest. You are immersed in a unique atmosphere that makes this a very pleasant and shaded trail.>> Charlotte Depardon - PNR Préalpes d'Azur

From signpost 99 in the village centre, go up the stairs and out of the village to reach signpost 98.

1-From this signpost, take the path on the right that runs alongside the valley. Stay on this single path for a few kilometres to reach signpost 97.

2-Take the GR4 trail on the right towards Les Tardons. The path climbs slightly before leading you gradually back down into the valley, with views of the village of Aiglun.

3-Stay on this GR trail until you reach the Hamlet of Les Tardons, then at signpost 95, turn right towards Le Mas via la Gironde.

4-Follow the wooded slope, opposite the one you were on just before (you will cross the various streams over several bridges).

5-At signpost 102, cross the bridge and the D110 road (caution) to climb slowly back up to the village of Le Mas.

The Alpes-Maritimes Department, as part of its management of the trails included in the Departmental Plan for Walking and Hiking Trails (PDIPR), is responsible for the maintenance of this route, including its signage and waymarking.
