Hiking - Le Pic du Mas de La Grave

A must-see objective for experienced hikers staying in the valley, the Pic du Mas de La Grave (3020 m) reveals itself after ascending the Buffe valley.

Facing La Meije, the Pic du Mas de La Grave asserts its presence in the landscape. Its proud stance and 3020 m height block the long Buffe valley. To its left, the Col des Trente Combes opens the gates to Savoie. It is never as beautiful and majestic as at sunset.

From the large cairn, the final part of the ascent to the Pic is very steep on schist terrain, which can be slippery when wet. For less experienced hikers, it is possible to turn back at the cairn.
